My Rite Aid Deals

I ran to Rite Aid this evening to get some awesome deals:
3 packs of Huggies diapers- on sale $8.99 each
Motts Cinnamon Applesauce- $1.99
John Frieda- Dream Curls- $5.00
John Frieda conditioner- $5.00

Coupons I used:
(2) $3 printable Huggies Pure and Natural cpns from coupons.com
$3 John Frieda root awakening product- 8/22 Smart Source
$3 John Frieda product- 8/22 Smart Source
$5/25 video value cpn
$1 Huggies video value cpn
$1/10 Hair Care cpn sent from Rite Aid email
Total: $22.31
used the $17.68 single check rebate check I received and my total out of pocket was $4.63
I will submit for the $10 Kimberly Clark gift card
I recieved the following ups:
$1 up for the applesauce
$3 up for the John Frieda
(3) $2 ups for the Huggies diapers
So $10 in ups and $10 giftcard for $4.63 out of pocket :)

When I worked out this total is was supposed to be $3 lower out of pocket because I had printed out a $3 Huggies Snug & Dry cpn- unfortunately I didn't read it all because it is for 60+ packs- so I was unable to use it.  That is OK- I still think I came out OK :)

Great deals at Walmart

These are the deals I found at Walmart this week:

Dole Fruit Crisp- $2.00- used $1 cpn- 9/12- Smart Source insert
Gain dish detergent- $0.97 x 2- used (2) $1 cpns- 8/29 P&G insert
Spin & Span antibacterial spray- $0.97 x2- used $1/2 cpn- 9/12 Smart Source insert
Hidden Valley Ranch Farm House salad dressing- $2.96- used $2 cpn printable from coupons.com
Total before tax before cpns: $8.84
Total before tax after cpns: $2.84

I actually didn't do too bad grocery shopping at Walmart, My hubby put everything away so I can't take a pic of everything I bought at Walmart.  Well actually I don't feel like digging everything out and take a pic and put everything back. I spent $85.41 total- which is more than I have been spending but less than my grocery budget of $100/week.  My husband & I are going on a trip (for my hubby it is a business trip that I get to tag along on) next month and my wonderful parents are keeping 3 of the boys and the dog- we are taking the baby with us- for the weekend and my wonderful mother in law is staying at our house during the week to make sure they get up and ready for school.  So, to help her out, I am including 1 extra meal each week with my groceries to have here for dinners for them.  My goal is to have them all assembled and labeled so that all she has to do is either put it in the oven or put it in the crockpot.

Great Deal at CVS

If you go to the CVS red coupon machine and scan your card, it will print coupons. I went today and scanned my card and noticed that I had a boatload of coupons- many were 1 day only coupons, they didn't interest me too much.  But I did get a coupon for $2 off 2 Xtra laundry detergent- oh cool- they are on sale for $2 each.  I bought 2 and used my $2/2 coupon and paid $2.20 for 2 bottles of laundry detergent- not bad.  And to make things even better, the cashier scanned my bag tag and I got a $1 ECB- awesome.  For those not familiar with the CVS bag tag and why I think they are cool, please read this post.

Lowes Build and Grow Clinic- 9/25/10

We missed the last one but that is OK.  This clinic looks awesome.  Mark your calenders.  You get to build a firetruck and it says it has a working siren and stickers- how cool is that?

To attend this free clinic at Lowes- simply go to the Lowes Build and Grow clinic website and sign up.  Then print out the form, sign it and bring it in.  Also is you have never gone before, the kids get an awesome little apron and goggles.  Each clinic they attend, they earn a badge which you sew to their apron.  It is a really cool experience that the kids as well as adults enjoy.

Gain dish detergent coupons- want them??

I still have (12) $1 off gain dish detergent coupons left and would love to give these away.  I am stocked up for a while with dish detergent and my hubby recently asked if I thought we had enough.  So, if you would like them, please either comment here or send an email to momstips2save@gmail.com and let me know.  Depending on the number of comments and emails I get, I will either split this lot of coupons up into 4 coupons each or 6 coupons each.  These coupons expire 09/30/10.  I will keep this open until Wednesday (09/22/10) night at 11:59pm.  And hope to mail the coupons out on Thursday (09/23/10), so you still have time to use them.

Also there seemed to be some confusion on how to make a comment on my blog.  If you click on the post itself within the blog and scroll down then you will see that you can make a comment and you can either sign in using the options listed or you can just use your name.  I know it says name/url but you can just put your name and it will post just fine.  If you are looking at this post from the main page all you have to do is click the blue comment word at the bottom of the post and the comment box will appear.  If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at momstips2save@gmail.com

Congrats to our coupon winners :)

Congrats to Ashley and Lynn for winning (4) $1 off gain dish detergent coupons.  Your coupons are in the mail and on their way to you.  Thank you so much for entering.  Look for more contests and giveaways in the future as we grow :)

Sorry :(

You may have noticed that I had not updated the blog all weekend long.  There is a nasty little "bug" (and not the legged kind) that is running through our house.  The baby got it first and ended up with a temp of 103.9 which sent us running, well actually speeding, to his pediatrician.  She looked him over and could not find anything wrong.  The strangest part that is during the day he is happy and running all over the place but by night he is sick and running a temperature- poor baby:(  Luckily he is much better and is back to his normal goofy self.  Unfortunately, Kevin and I were not so lucky- we ended up with it Sunday evening.  I was so achy and dizzy- getting off the couch was an interesting adventure.  My head was pounding and I felt like it was going to pop right off my head- it was nasty- but other than chills, achy, dizziness and massive headache- that is all I ended up with.  Poor Kevin has had the same symptoms as I without the massive headache but with a fever- his temp today got up to 103.3- luckily some Tylenol and Motrin did the trick and this evening before bed we took his temp and it is back down below 100- YEA!!!!  Now Michael, my poor poor hubby has it- he is so miserable- he is dizzy and achy and keeps feeling hot.  He was so convinced today that is was like an oven in the house- I assure it was not- I had opened a window to let the nice breeze in- evidentally it was not breezy enough and he turned on the air conditioning.  Ok no big deal right?  I ran out real quick to Rite Aid which is real close to us, came back and it was like a winter wonderland in my house- it was cold.  Of course hubby says it felt nice- Yea nice if you like to freeze.  Some how Christopher has been the lucky one and has not ended up with any symptoms.  So, if you could please keep Kevin and Michael in your thoughts and prayers for a speedy recovery, that would mean the world to us.

Also due to this illness, I have been unable to type up the deals for Rite Aid, Walgreens and CVS- I hope to be able to post them tomorrow.

What's for Dinner?

We had yummy delicious homemade pizza- it was sooo good.

Its not delivery, its not DiGiorno- its homemade pizza :)

I don't know why the cheese pizza in the back looks burnt.  I made 1 cheese pizza, 1 chicken pizza and 1 chicken with BBQ sauce instead of pizza sauce pizza. This was the best pic I could get before the smell of freshly baked pizza filled the house and the kids came running and devoured the pizza.  I have heard many people tell me that they would love to make the things I do but they don't have alot of time- well- time is not something I have alot of also.  Remember I have 4 boys and with their schedules, sometimes I feel like a taxi.  That is what I love about this pizza from start to finish it takes about 30 minutes and doesn't require alot of ingredients.

I would like to thank Crystal from moneysavingmom.com for this wonderful pizza crust recipe.

Homemade Pizza Crust
1 Tbsp active dry yeast
1 C warm water
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 Tbsp veg oil (I use canola oil)
2 1/2 C flour

Dissolve yeast in warm water.  Add the rest of the ingredients.  Dump onto floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes.  Roll out and press onto greased pizza pan.  Add toppings and bake at 450 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy.

We make it a little bit different, we use all the same ingredients. Dump onto floured surface- knead for about 5 minutes- press onto greased pizza pan- bake for 8 minutes- remove from oven- add toppings- transfer onto pizza stone- return to oven for 6 minutes or until lightly browned.

Enjoy your delicious homemade pizza :)

Just received an email from Chuck E Cheese about a voluntary product recall.  They are recalling the light up ring and star glasses.  If broke or pulled apart, the battery can become exposed and your child could easily swallow it.  If you have one or both of these products, you are urged to take them back to your nearest Chuck E Cheese location for a refund or a different product.  For complete information and pictures of the recalled products, please visit http://www.chuckecheese.com/company-info/product-advisory.php

Babies R Us sale

I went into Babies R Us just to look around- I love going to Babies R Us- hubby not so much- don't know why-LOL.  I was actually looking for a pair of sandals for the baby for an upcoming trip.  When I rounded the corner I discovered:
Several racks of clothes on clearance- now I am getting the "baby has enough summer clothes" look from the hubby.  So I went looking for clearance sandals and found several cute pairs but none fit right, either too big or too small.  Finally I found just the right size and he walks so well with them on. He loves his sandals, he held them the entire time we were in the store and would not let go of them for the cashier to ring them up.  Luckily she was able to scan them with him holding them.

Isn't my baby cute with his sandals- orginal price $10- clearance price- $3- YEA!!

Made a trip to BRU yesterday- this time I took Kevin with me and found this adorable shirt & short set- Orginal price according to the pink sticker on the tag- $14.99- 1st markdown- 8.99- 2nd markdown and what I paid for it- $2.20- can't beat that.

Do you have one of these?

Special thanks to my oldest son, Christopher for "modeling" my CVS bag :)
Or better yet- do you have one of these?
This is my CVS bag tag.  I take my bag & bag tag everytime I go to CVS.  When I make a purchase, the cashier scans my bag tag and every 4 times it is scanned I receive a $1 ECB- pretty cool huh?  Now you can only get credit once a day- I wish it was every purchase- do you know how many CVS's there are between church and home?  LOL.  You also do not need to purchase a CVS green bag, any reusable bag will do.  Just go into your nearest CVS, go to the register and you can purchase your very own CVS green bag tag for $1- attach it to your reusable bag and you are set.  You just have to remember to take it with you (I have to leave my CVS bag in the van or I tend to leave it at home).

I also need to mention that you need to have a CVS Extra Care Card (which is free to sign up for- you can sign up at the store or you can sign up online- look near the right top corner and you will see Extra Care, click on that) in order for your Extra Care Bucks (ECB's) to print on your register receipt.

Lowes Build & Grow Clinic Saturday 09/11/10

It totally slipped my mind- we have had such a busy week- until I looked at the calender and saw that tomorrow Saturday, Sept 11, 2010 Lowes is doing a Build & Grow Clinic from 10 am until 11 am.  We have gone to several of these both in Virginia and in North Carolina (when we have been visiting with family).  Our kids love going.  This Saturday, the project is a cute pet leash hanger.  And best of all, not only do the kids get to have some fun with hands on projects it is completely FREE :)  All you need to do is sign your children up for the Lowes Build & Grow Clinic and you will get to see a pic of what they will be creating for this workshop as well as the project and date of the next clinic.  Once you sign up, you will need to print out, sign and bring the Clinic Waiver Form with you.  Your kids will receive a cute Lowes apron and goggles that they get to take home with them along with their project.  The recommended grades are 1st through 5th- but Nathan has been going since he was in Kindergarten and with help from daddy has had a blast.  Chris and Kevin go on occasion (it is difficult to determine with teenagers sometimes what they might be interested in doing) and it has never been a problem for them to do a project.  In fact, at the Lowes we attend the workshops at, I have seen kids of all ages doing projects, helping out younger kids and having fun :)

Easy :)  My family has a bedtime ritual where every night at a specific time, our kids know to brush their teeth, wash their hands and get ready for bed.  Once snuggled in their beds we read them a bed time story and then off to dream land they go.  If your family bedtime ritual is similiar to ours you can log your kids bedtime habits into an online log.  Once your log is complete, you simply print off and complete the redemption form and mail it to the address provided and Colgate will send you a free kids Colgate toothbrush for every kid that participated.
