Our Super Big Purchase

We were hoping to have our credit card debt completely paid off before making this super big purchase.  Unfortunately, that didn't quite happen.

We finally got to the point where we had to purchase a new vehicle.  Our old vehicle was making frequent trips to the auto mechanics and had become quite unreliable :(  Our old vehicle had racked up quite the balance in a short amount of time.  We were paying our mechanic twice what our vehicle payment is now just to avoid paying interest.

We did pay our mechanic bill off first and then decided what we could do for a down payment on a newer to us vehicle.

We were also looking to down size from a mini van to a smaller vehicle, since we have recently down sized to a family of 4.

We said goodbye to our 12 year old well loved and dinged up paid off mini van:
And Hello to our newer to us vehicle:
I was sad to see our old mini van go.  We had lots of fun road trips but wasn't a fan of its constant need to visit its new bff- the mechanic :)  I was super happy not having a car payment but knew this day was coming.  We had hopes and dreams about being able to pay for our next vehicle in cash.  That didn't happen either.  But it was something our family truly needed and I am super grateful that we didn't have to touch our emergency fund :)

After driving our new vehicle, I am in love with it and look forward to creating awesome memories in the future :)

We are still on track with paying off our credit card debt.  We just hit a bump in the road and it will take us a little longer to tackle.  We have faith and will get rid of that ugly 4 letter word- debt :(
