We hope everyone had a fabulous Valentines Day. We had a wonderful Valentines day- we had no plans other than to have a nice lunch out. We went to O'Charleys- we had a gift card:) We found out that they had a $15 for 2 special. Perfect. We were seated rather quickly but we went for lunch, so we didn't expect too much of a crowd. Upon being seated, our waitress came over and handed us a coupon that gave us $5 off of a $20 food purchase just for dining with them on Valentines day. We found out that with the $15 special, you could add a soup or salad and get a mini dessert for only $3 extra per person. We did that. Our salads were huge and our lunch arrived before I finished my salad. We each split our lunch & yummy brownie sundae with the baby. And then the bill came- we looked and were pleasantly surprised, the amount was as I predicted. $27.02- for lunch and dessert for 3 people- not bad- but wait.... it gets better:) $27.02- $5 coupon we were given= $22.02- $15 gift card- thanks Diane:)= $7.02. Awesome- we had $10 leftover from our Valentine Challenge, we added $1.02 to $10 we had for the tip. So, technically we did go over by $1- but that is OK. I am happy, we stuck to our challenge and did very well with it. One thing that I did not particularly like was that the waitress came over and got the check and never came back. We are guessing that she assumed that our remaining change was her tip. It was but it still would have been nice not only to ask or at least just give us our change and we give it back to her but a simple Thanks- enjoy your day- come back and see us- would have been great. But she disappeared and we never saw her again. We sat there for about 10 minutes before we finally just left.
The rest of the day consisted of our normal Monday- we went shopping and running some errands. We are currently looking for countertops for our kitchen and a part for the pump for our well. I was surprised to receive a text from Redbox giving me a free Valentine code for a free movie rental- awww that was nice:) So we decided to rent a Spongebob movie for the kids, Marmaduke- which was pretty cute and Knight and Day for us- we weren't sure what to think about Knight and Day but it turned out not only to be funny but it was cute also. Redbox was offering a deal that through Valentines day rent 2 movies get a free code. Cool- 3 movies for the price of 2 and get a free code for a free rental later:)
We arrived home and hubby told me that I wasn't allowed to get mad at him- huh?? What?? Oh no, what did he do??
Awww- thats what he did- he ordered a dozen red roses and wrote a beautiful note. He confessed that he ordered them before we discussed the Valentine challenge. I don't get flowers often, so when I do, they are treasured.
After we put the boys to bed, we spent the rest of the evening snuggled on the couch watching the dvd we rented. We had a fabulous Valentines Day. How was yours??
