April 2011 Goal Update :)

Our 2011 Goals- Review of March:

1) To not eat out or at least to not pay out of pocket, with the exception of tips.  If you want to treat the family to a meal out, we will make sure we have a gift card to cover all of us.- We did well with this goal and only ate out twice for the whole month of March- we spent $30 total- not too bad.  We hope to not eat out at all in April:)

2) Pay off 1 credit card- So super excited- we wrote out the final check to pay off this credit card- WOOHOO:)  Cross off list:)

3) Not to use any of our credit cards for 2011.  To pay cash for everything.- only used credit card to pay for lunches in #1 :(  We hope to do better in April and not use any credit cards.

4) To lower our grocery budget.  Our current grocery budget is $400 month for our family of 6.  Our goal is to lower that amount and to save the remainder.- We didn't do as well as he had hoped due to a vehicle issue.  We got our van fixed- thanks dad:)  We are doing well so far in April.

5) To create a monthly meal plan for our family, to purchase most of our groceries at the beginning of the month (with the exception of fresh fruits, veggies, milk and other perishible items) and do more freezer cooking- all while staying below our current grocery budget.- Doing well with creating monthly menu plans and bulk shopping.  Plan to write up a post and keep tabs on our spending to see just how we do for the month of April.
6) Unclutter the house and become more organized:)- working on this-trying to get more motivated

7) Lose weight- I need to get motivated to lose this baby weight.- just started working out- hope to keep motivation- we will see how it goes:)

8) Morning devotions, prayer time and more bible reading- got off track last month with 2 sick kids but am happy to say I am back on track:)

9) Monthly date night with hubby- whether we go out or stay at home, pop popcorn and rent a movie- doing great with this goal

10) To spend quality family time together.  With everyones schedule and us running all over creation, I would love to spend more quality time together- no tv- us playing games, talking, enjoying each others company- 2 sick kids kept us busy in March- hope to get this on track this month.

11) Not to use our dryer to save on electricity and lower our electricity bill- this goal going on strong- we have not used the dryer. We have been using our clothesline outside and taking advantage of this beautiful weather.

12)  We want to unclutter, which goes with #6, sell unwanted items, pay off as many credit cards as possible- 1 at a time, which goes with #2, find a bigger house and sell our current very small house:)  This is a huge goal and one we are working very hard to achieve along with all the other goals listed above- Trying to get more motivated to unclutter.  I find it hard to get motivated to do things like exercise and unclutter but once I get on board- I am good to go:)  We did pay off 1 credit card- YEA!!  We did found a bigger house that is perfect for our family and closer to our church and to our parents.  We put in an offer for the house and will see what the owners say.  Keep your fingers crossed:)

13)  Guess we get to add another goal: Pay off another credit card.
