Happy Birthday!!

With everything going on this month, my birthday snuck up on me this week- oh my:)  We wanted to go out as a family to eat dinner especially since I had gotten an email from Red Robin that included a free burger:)  But that didn't happen as we were having van issues that took longer than expected to fix and by that time we were too tired to go out.  So we decided to go out on my birthday for lunch while the boys were in school.  We went to Red Lobster- YUMMY:)  We had a pick two lunch, where you pick 2 items and 1 side and it came with their heavenly garlic cheese biscuits and a salad.  We split our lunches with the baby and still had plenty to eat.  We even splurged and ordered dessert- yummy Chocolate Chip Lava cookie with Ice Cream on top- it was soooooooo good:)  And to make this day even better, our entire lunch including dessert was free- YEA!!  My favorite word- FREE:)  Thanks to my wonderful mother in law, who gave my husband and myself gift cards to Red Lobster for Christmas that we used to pay for my birthday lunch.  We had such a great day.  Thanks to all for the wonderful and thoughtful birthday wishes.  I am so blessed to have such awesome family and friends:)

Thanks to all.....

We would like to thank everyone for all of your kind words as we were mourning the death of my husband's grandfather.  It meant so much to us to have all the prayers and kind words.  Pop Pop was such a kind and loving man who will be missed very much.  It has definately been a tough start to 2011.  But things are finally looking up and I am eager to get back to blogging.   Hugs to all :)

Sorry for the delay on the Rite Aid for the week of 01/09/11.  My plan was to have the Rite Aid ad printed up before the weekend got here unfortunately it didn't happen that way.  We had a death in the family and it hit us hard.  Even though we knew that this day was coming as he was dealing with cancer, it was still hard to deal with.  If you could keep my family in your thoughts and prayers, that would mean the world to me.  We feel so blessed with the time that we got to spend with him.  His suffering and trips to the emergency room are over.  I prayed constantly for his healing but it wasn't until he passed and I had the opportunity to talk with my mother that I realized that he was healed- not for us but to go home with our Lord and to be reunited with his beautiful wife and son that passed before him.  My mother called it spiritual healing.  I also feel so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to go and sit with him on Sunday.  Even though he drifted in and out of sleep and it sounded like he was sleeping the entire time we were there, he looked at me- it was then I felt the urge to hold his hand and pray for him and with him.  When I placed my hand in his, it may have been the muscle spasms but it felt like he lightly squeezed my hand as if he were letting me know that his time was near and that everything would be OK.  It is this memory I will carry with me- I feel so blessed to have shared this time with him in the end.  I know that Pop Pop would not want us to mourn for him but to celebrate his life- his wonderful full life.  He had so many accomplishments and shared so many wonderful stories.  He was and will always be a wonderful grandfather and great grandfather.  When leaving my husbands aunt's house on Sunday, I realized we hadn't told him goodbye and then it hit me- I don't want to say goodbye- more like until we meet again.  I know that one day we will see each other again- so until then I will hold his memories dear and near to my heart and share with my children the wonderful man Pop Pop was:)

We hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and a wonderful New Years Eve & day. We had fun visiting and celebrating with my inlaws that is until I started not feeling well. We came home and make a doctor's appointment and discovered my strep is back- YUCK :( I am now on a more powerful antibiotic and will go back to have another wonderful strep test done in a couple of weeks to make sure that the strep is gone this time. Please keep your fingers crossed that this medication works. I have wanted to blog so badly but have felt so bad and didn't have the energy to do so. I am feeling better now, so I am taking that as a good sign that the antibiotics are working :)
