Our Menu Plan for the week of 06/27/2016

How was your weekend?  Saturday was crazy busy for us.  We went to Petsmart for their Secret Life of Pets Event.  The boys got a poster and an activity sheet.  They mentioned online about getting a Free ticket for the movie.  Well, we were informed that we would have to buy 3 packages of dog treats to get 1 Free kids movie ticket.  No thank you.  First, we don't have a dog and Second, I will just pay the $5 for the boys to see the movie :)  From there, we went to Lowe's for the Build & Grow Event.  After Lowe's we picked up our Co Op order and headed to Target to let the boys play the in store video games while waiting for Chris to get off from work.  We got home and Michael went to town on some bathroom sink fixing projects.  We were supposed to go to CMON and the Zoo but that just didn't happen.  We will have to reschedule.

How was your weekend?  We had a good weekend.  Sort of.  Hubby decided the day before his birthday that there was yard work that must be done.  He was going to town on the yard work and then it happened.  All of a sudden the trimmer stopped trimming.  It was then he realized that not only had he trimmed the bush, he went right through the extension cord- Opps :)  After that wonderful turn of events, we spent Saturday at home playing games with the boys.  Christopher and I went grocery shopping after his shift at work.  Sunday was not only Father's Day but hubby's birthday.  After church, we went to the mall to spend my Shop Your Way Reward points that were set to expire at the end of the month.  Hubby found a couple of shirts he really really wanted and little Michael ended up with a Paw Patrol hat. That evening, we went to Pinchers to celebrate not only Father's Day but hubby's birthday.  The younger boys got to eat free and hubby got a free piece of Cheesecake- Yay and Yum :)

What did I find at the Dollar Tree??

Everyone processes stress differently.  What do you do when you are stressed out, worried or nervous?  I must keep moving to keep my mind off what ever is bothering me.  Recently, I have turned my worry and nervousness into cleaning :)

When at the Dollar Tree I found these and thought they might be helpful in my cleaning:

I wonder how these will work compared to that of the name brand products?  I had the perfect place in mind.  I had some doors and walls in the hallway that needed some attention.

Let's see how it did.  The before pics:
Mark on door- it appears to be pen
Something on the door frame.  Not sure what.
Mark on wall.  Not sure if pen or Sharpie :(
After wetting the Quick Erasers and scrubbing these areas, the after pics:
The marks are all gone~ YEA!!!!  I was pleasantly surprised how well these Quick Erasers worked.  I ended up going through 2 of them working on the rest of the hallway :(

I will definitely being purchasing more of these Scrub Buddies Quick Erasers from the Dollar Tree.  And I ended up getting 3 in the package for $1~ Sweet :)

Can't wait to see what my next Dollar Tree find will be :)

Our Shopping Day~ 06/11/2016

Hubby discovered a brand new grocery store 20 miles north of us that he has heard me talk about.  They had their grand opening a few months ago.  We decided to make the trip up to Port Charlotte and what this store was all about.  It might help if I tell which store it is, wouldn't it?  It was Aldi's.  I have heard so many great things about Aldi's but the closest to us was an hour and a half away- boo :(  I was so excited when hubby told me that they were building an Aldi's a few counties north of us.

Here are our shopping trip details:

My baby grew up :(

I can't believe the time is finally here.  Kevin has left the nest and started on his own journey :)
I can remember the day he announced that he wanted to go into the Air Force.  He worked really hard to graduate High School, contacted a recruiter, took the Asvab, went to MEPS a few times and had a great time with the rest of the recruits at PT :)

Everything was going along great.  We waited and waited and waited to hear if he had a job so that he could go into Basic Training.  It took several months but the announcement came~ he had a job :)

He was told that he would start Basic Training in 80 days.  80 days seemed like so long.  We took those 80 days and did everything we could with him.  We went to Starbucks, he was my shopping buddy for a few trips, went to Tropical Smoothie, went to Menchis, went to Red Robin, went on a family camping trip, etc.  Now looking back those 80 days seemed to fly by.

The more time passed the more Kevin became nervous yet excited at the unknown.  It didn't bother me until the day finally came.  It finally hit me that my baby was leaving.  I know that he won't be gone forever but I can just not stop crying.  I can't believe that I won't be able to see my son for 2 months.  I am counting down the days until we make the 20 hour drive to Texas to see him graduate Basic Training.

He texted me that he landed in San Antonio and was on his way to Lackland Air Force Base yesterday.  I am anxiously awaiting on his first phone call, which I was told would be sometime in the first 72 hours.  **Correction~ he just called.  It was a quick scripted 3 minute call but it was still nice to hear his voice :)

I am so very proud of him.  I look forward to seeing where this journey in his life takes him.

If you could take a moment and say a prayer, keep him in your thoughts and send good vibes that would mean the world to me :)
